Not only have I removed the nasties found in the super market versions of these blends that are popular family favourites, I have also ensured that they are full of flavour, easy, healthy and yummy.
So you can enjoy a healthier version of your family favourites.
French Onion :
Aromatic onion soup is a French favourite. Although we have now seen the classic French Onion Dip gain popularity and feature at most household on BBQ platters and get together's.
So you can either Dip it, Lick it or eat it by the spoon full. This blend once again is a pure blend, removing all the nasty ingredients that normally feature in the super market brands.
Ingredients: Onion flakes, onion powder, parsley, celery seed, paprika, black pepper
Apricot Chicken :
This dish is a popular family favourite with juicy chicken and fresh apricots, now commonly made with canned apricots. It's a quick one pot meal and a great way to hide a few extra veggies for the little humans of the house. My version puts a healthier spin on the normally sickeningly sweet dish.
Ingredients: Paprika, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, cardamom, chilli, garlic, pepper.
Middle Eastern Kebabs :
Also commonly known these days as koftas or shwarma. Originally they were made of lamb or mutton, today's they may also be chicken, turkey, beef, or veal.
This is a great dish for a family, BBQ or party platter. It can be served with a salad, vegetables, sauces or dip.
I have found the secret to making these kebabs moist and juicy.
Ingredients: Onion, capsicum, ginger, garlic, cumin, coriander, allspice, garam masala, chilli and salt.
Kentucky Chicken :
Kentucky Chicken is an American fast food that originated in Kentucky that specialised in fried chicken. Which soon became world famous.
While their food can be found mouth wateringly delicious due to their secret ingredient MSG.
It is seen as unhealthy by many these days, not only due to the MSG but also from a KJ intake
1 piece of Kentucky chicken can be 900-1000KJ when pressure fried in lard traditionally, modern days sees them using canola oil. Who stops at 1 piece!
So here is my take on the KFC for for those wanting to make a healthier recipe, low carb or keto friendly version at home of this famous dish.
Ingredients: Bay leaves, celery seed, mustard, cumin, chilli, black pepper, white peppet, ginger, allspice (pimento), mace, paprika, cardamom, cinnamon, garlic, onion, herbs, pure sea salt.
Mexican Fajitas :
A fajita in Tex-Mex and Mexican cuisine. It is any grilled meat that is served as a taco on a flour or corn tortilla. The term originally referred to skirt steak, the cut of beef first used in the dish. Popular meats today also include chicken and other cuts of beef, as well as vegetables instead of meat.
Carb conscious eaters are ditching their tortilla and tacos for fajita bowls. Another great dish for adding extra veges into your diet.
Fajitas can be made sweet or smoky
Ingredients: Chipotle chilli, spanish paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt
