Mongolian Beef Recipe
*500 gm heart smart beef stir fry strips
*Crushed garlic 1 tbsp
*1 onion slices or diced
*Ginger Paste 1tsp
*Dried red chilies 5 ( use 1 tsp flakes if you don't have dried chillis) Add more chilli flakes if you like it hotter.
*2 and 1/2 to 3 tsp stevia -( depending on how sweet you would like it) ( this dish should be a balance of hot and sweet, one should not stand out more than the other)
*1 tbsp chicken stock powder
*1/2 bunch spring onion/shallots *45ml soy sauce
Add onion, garlic, ginger, stock powder to hot pan and fry. Add the dry chilies once onion is half way cooked and continue cooking. If it sticks add little water just so it doesn't burn. Add beef strips and brown half way. Once beef juices are out add soy sauce and half the amount of spring onion and cook till beef is completely cooked with lid on. Add your stevia now and simmer with lid off till there is no sauce left. Add the remaining shallots to garnish. .
